Scotland 2008 -- Culloden Battlefield on a drizzly, dreary day. The Visitor Centre has been remodeled recently. Went there from Achnasheen on the train and took a taxi to the centre. I like the new centre. There are showcases with exhibits and touch screens where you can select to listen to testimonials of witnesses of the time of the Jacobite rising. There is still a movie shown with audio surround and screens all around you. I now undersood much better how it all came to pass. The battlefields has also been changed a bit. You get an audio guide which keeps track of your position and automatically plays commentaries and explanations of what you see. You hear battle noises and voices talking as if you are right there at the battle. Quite eerie if its foggly and drizzly. I got my audio guide despite the heavy drizzle because I promised the lady at the counter to keep it dry inside my jacket. I got wet through and dried while I watched an English soldier/actor talking about the battle inside again.
